Turkey sends military reinforcements to monitor ISIL in Syria's Jarabulus

ISTANBUL, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Turkey has sent military reinforcements near Syria's Jarabulus outside Aleppo Governorate controlled by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The Turkish army placed on Saturday tanks and some armored vehicles in some areas, and radar systems were installed to follow up the developments in Jarabulus, said Anadolu Agency, citing some security sources.
The sources noted that ISIL continues digging trenches along the Turkish-Syrian border in the city of Jarabulus.
There are ongoing clashes between ISIL and some Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) inside Syria.
Meanwhile, authorities in the Turkish city of Gaziantep announced on Friday Adi area near the Euphrates River as a "security zone" for 15 days, and individuals and cars are banned from entering the area.
Two days ago, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country reached a positive point with the US side concerning the safe area in Syria. (end) ta.hm
