Salmiya keeps its Kuwait handball league lead

KUWAIT, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Salmiya handball team beat Shabab 30-27 in the opening of week seven of Kuwait league Monday, a clash that saw the formers outclassing the latter thus deserving to win.
Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi and Faisal Wasel led Salmiya into victory and were backed by veteran goalkeeper Abdulrazaq Al-Baloushi, and maintained the league lead with 14 points. Shabab kept the six points it already had.
"The players have proven they were worthy of winning the game," Al-Zaabi said in a statement to KUNA after the clash.
"Our team is leading the league now and it was due to hard work of the coaching staff and the team administration," he said.
The players were committed in practice and were strictly following coach's instructions, he added.
Al-Zaabi urged his teammates to continue with this determination in the next games.
Meanwhile, Al-Qurain smashed Fahaheel 31-19 and has 12 points now.
Salmiya is the most winning team of the Kuwait handball league with 11 times. It is followed by Al-Arabi with 10 times, Kazma six times, while each of Qadsia, Kuwait and Sulaibikhat has five wins. Fahaheel won the league four times and Khaitain twice. (end) ayr.bs
