KUWAIT, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Shifa Humanitarian Team announced on Wednesday accomplishment of the latest humanitarian mission in Hatay Province, South Turkey, where the doctors succeeded in treating more than 200 injured Syrians.
Shifa team in a press release said that latest mission was the 10th since its formation, where a number surgeons from Germany, Greece, and Turkey in addition to Kuwait, checked up around 100 Syrian refugees at Al-Amal Hospital, conducted 27 surgerical operations and 62 surgical interventions for Syrian patients. The team checked a number patients, who underwent surgery, to ensure success and agreed with hospitals' doctors to follow up on the cases.
Moreover, medicines were distributed to a clinic in Antalya, administrative capital of Hatay, hosting around 4,000 Syrian refugees, as well supporting other medical centers in the same province.
Shifa Humanitarian Team, sponsored by Kuwait's Zakat (alms) House, is carrying out its mission in cooperation with doctors from the LEAP Global Missions and Interplast-Germany. Since its formation in 2013, Shifa Humanitarian Team has performed around 200 surgeries and 1,500 medical checkups, in addition to providing medicines and treatment for patients in refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Bolivia, Kenya and India.(end) amn.ha
