KUWAIT, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Wednesday discussed with Somali Information Minister Mohamed Abdi Hayir ways of strengthening media, cultural and tourism's bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience between the two countries.
During the meeting, Sheikh Salman confirmed Kuwait's support for the Somali information-culture-tourism's message against violence, extremism and terrorism, the Information Ministry said in statement.
He also called on Somalia's Government and people to participate in the activities of Kuwait's celebration as a capital for Islamic culture, 2016.
For his part, Hayir expressed his deepest gratitude to the government and people of Kuwait and to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who has been designed by the UN as the "Humanitarian Leader" for the generous humanitarian and political support to nations in need, including Somalia.
The meeting was also attended by Somali Ambassador to Kuwait Sheikh Abdul Qadir Amin and Information Ministry officials. (end)
