PARIS, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to France Ali Suleiman Al-Said has been awarded the French National Order of Merit, Grand Officer, in recognition of his "effective role and laudable efforts" during his tenure.
Al-Said was decorated at a banquet held by the Foreign Ministry in Paris on Friday as part of his farewell meetings with French officials as his tenure has come to an end.
Head of the Middle East and North Africa at the ministry Jerome Bonnafont first read the presidential decree awarding Al-Said the Order.
He then commended Al-Said's efforts that have helped boost bilateral ties in all fields, political, economic and cultural.
Bonnafont noted that the Order was awarded to a few ambassadors for their distinguished efforts to promote friendship ties with France.
For his part, Al-Said expressed appreciation for the honor bestowed by the French president, referring to the strong ties, supported by Kuwaiti political leadership, with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on top.
"We always look forward to close bilateral cooperation for the good of the two peoples and the region," he added. (end) amm.msa
