KUWAIT, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ports Authority announced the halt of maritime traffic at Shuwaikh, Shuaiba and Doha ports due to bad weather conditions on Thursday.
Navigation will resume at Shuwaikh port once visibility is back to normal, as the country is experiencing a dust storm with gusty winds, acting head of marine operations at the port Captain Thiyab Al-Enezi told (KUNA).
He added visibility was less than 0.5 nautical miles and wind speed was recorded over 15 knots.
There are five vessels waiting to enter the port while seven others are ready to leave as soon as weather improves.
Acting Deputy Director of Navigation Operations at Shuaiba port Captain Tawfeq Shehab, on his part, said that recorded visibility was less than 0.5 nautical miles in the port.
There is one vessel standing by to enter the port and another in the exit area awaiting better weather to leave, he added.(end) fnk.tb.mm.nfm
