Charity "e-system" to avoid duality, monitor aid - Foreign Ministry

KUWAIT, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- The Foreign Ministry on Sunday reiterated the importance of the electronic system on Kuwait's humanitarian and charity work whose first stage was launched on Thursday.
The network connects the Kuwaiti donor, charity and humanitarian institutions with the ministry and diplomatic missions abroad, as well as foreign receivers of aid.
The e-system was given the go-ahead by Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah during a training workshop organized by the humanitarian and charity work team at the ministry's follow-up and coordination department with some Kuwaiti diplomatic missions overseas.
The event focused on the use of the new system through the audio and visual communication network with the ministry.
It provides an integrated database on all the overseas bodies that have received Kuwaiti aid or applied for it, the ministry said in a statement.
It also allows the Kuwaiti donors to get acquainted with the aid applications received by the missions, so as to avoid duality, as well as monitoring aid channeled to foreign institutions.
Regulations have been set in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, committing all Kuwaiti charity organizations to obtain the Foreign Ministry's approval prior to any cooperation or the transfer of donations to foreigner bodies. (end) am.msa
