Stock traders in Oman, other GCC countries suffer losses

MUSCAT, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Investors in the Omani stock market and regional bourses have suffered fresh losses due to record fall of oil prices and negative reports about economies of major powers.
The Omani market lost, last week, 240.3 million rials, where the market value fell in end of Thursday's trades to 14.859 billion Omani rials. Benchmark dropped 3.6 percent, closing at 6,089, falling by 228 points.
The bearish trend was reported in the other GCC markets, amid record decline of the crude prices to some USD 40 per barrel.
Oman crude for October's delivery decreased, on Thursday, to USD 46.60 pb, compared to USD 48.49 pb on Wednesday.
Last week, trade volume dropped to 18 million rials compared to 28 million rials the week before. (USD=0.39 Omani Rial) (end) ahr.rk
