Russia offers to help Saudi Arabia in anti-terror combat

MOSCOW, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Russia stated readiness to offer whatever help the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia might need in the combat against terrorism in the wake of the deadly bomb blast at a mosque in Abha city in the southwestern governorate of Asir.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a press release solidarity with Saudi Arabia and offered condolences for the families of the 17 security personnel killed in the suicide attack during the noon prayer on Thursday.
The attack is a new indication that wave of violence by the terrorist groups affects more parts of the Middle East, the statement said, adding that terrorism can be defeated only through concerted efforts by countries of the region and the international community. (end) as.gb
