MOSCOW, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- One person was killed and another injured when a helicopter crashed during a military show in the central city of Ryazan southeast of Moscow on Sunday.
Interfax News Agency quoted a military source as saying that a Mi-28 gunship was participating in an air show organized by the Russian defense military when it crashed before scores of spectators.
The pilot of the helicopter had died, while a colleague managed to avert the crash by leaping out of the aircraft and was subsequently rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
The source added that the accident was apparently caused by system failure. The Russian Air Force has suspended all Mi-28 helicopter operations once ongoing investigations into the incident are completed. (end)
