CAIRO, July 30 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Al-Araby received on Thursday a message from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon containing a number of ideas and proposals for a political solution to the crisis in Yemen.
Representative of the UN Secretary General in Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed unveiled during a joint press conference with Al-Araby that sending observers under the UN umbrella is one of the most important points he proposed to the Arab League concerning ways to resolve the crisis in Yemen.
آ The UN envoy said that there is "convergence" of views "that a political solution is the only solution to the crisis in Yemen," stressing the importance of coordination with the Arab League on the various points being discussed amid the big identical consensus between the two sides.
He at the same time thanked the Secretary General of the Arab League for his great support especially with regard to a political solution "to which we aspire."(end)
