Kuwait strongly hits terrorists 2nd time in less than 2 months

KUWAIT, July 30 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday uncovering a terrorist cell of five Kuwaitis, in the second major success by security authorities in confronting terrorism since a month ago when another one responsible or blowing up a mosque was busted.
The MoI, in a statement, said the apprehended terrorists confessed in interrogations to receiving educational courses about deviating doctrine of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and undergoing military training before they had gotten involved in fighting in Syria and Iraq.
One of the uncovered terrorists was identified as Mubarak Malfi, born in 1986, it said, adding that he had been killed in a terrorist operation in Iraq. Another was identified as Fahad Hamad, born in 1990. Security personnel found in the latter's house "takfiri books, contents of which urge for fighting and carrying out terrorist acts," in addition to flag of the terrorist organization, the ISIL.
"Takfiri" is an Arabic word that indicates rejection of religious beliefs of the same sect or another.
The MoI identified the other members of the uncovered cell; namely Mohammad Hamad, born in 1986. He had joined the organization in Mosul and had taken part in combat and Faleh Nasser, born in 1982. The latter had also joined the organization in Mosul and had participated in combat, Mohammad Falah, born in 1990, who had facilitated the others' travel to Iraq to take part in terrorist operations.
The ministry vowed that it would spare no effort in clamping down, firmly, on any person who may try to undermine the homeland's security. Pre-emptive precautions will be in force against any terrorist acts and terrorists will be brought to justice. The detainees were referred to the general prosecution, under the state felony case, number 47/2015.
The major successful blow, declared today by the MoI against terrorists who act secretly, came after uncovering another cell of terrorists who had masterminded bombing attack on Imam Al-Sadiq's Mosque on June 26. The attack carried out by a lone bomber disguised as a worshipper left 26 people dead and 227 others wounded. Up to 29 individuals had been nabbed and found associated to planning the terrorist attack.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has affirmed necessity of coordination and speedy swap of information among the GCC security authorities to thwart such attacks. The minister has pledged to His Highness the Amir that all the security personnel will work hard to crack down on any trouble-maker in the country.
The Kuwaiti people have reacted to the recent bombing with affirmation that they will remain united behind His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who had spontaneously hurried to the scene of the explosion, expressing somber sentiments for the martyrs and soothing pain of the injured and shocked citizens. He later hosted families of the martyrs affirming such acts of cowardice would not undermine the Kuwaitis' unity. (end) tb.rk
