CAIRO, July 18 (KUNA) -- At least 20 militants were killed in the continued military operation against the terrorist elements in the restive Sinai Peninsula Saturday.
In a press statement, the Egyptian Army Spokesman Brigader Mohammad Samir said that 20 militants were killed in a raid on Jabal Al-Alaliqa Mountain in Northern Sinai.
He added that that the armed forces also pounded a militant vehicle and killed all on board, South of Sheikh Zuweid town in North Sina.
Brigader Samir stated that the army continues combing and chasing of the militants in Sheikh Zuweid.
In a separate statement, Samir said that three army personnel were killed and four were wounded in a rocket attack on a military checkpoint in Sheikh Zuweid.
In the meantime, the official news agency (MENA) reported that five security peronnel were killed and seven were injured a militant assault on a military checkpoint in Sinai. (pickup previous) rg.ibi
