14 Iraqis killed, 35 injured in car bomb blasts in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, July 13 (KUNA) -- Around 14 Iraqis were killed and 35 others injured Monday in series of car bomb explosions that took place in a number of areas in the Iraqi capital.
Two car bombs that targeted security forces near Al-Shallal market in Al-Shaab area went off simultaneously, killing 11 civilians, including four women, two soldiers, and injuring 24 others, including nine soldiers, a security source in Baghdad operations command told KUNA.
Another car bomb went off in Al-Bnouk neighborhood, adjacent to Sadr City, killing two civilians and wounding eight others, the source said.
It also added that one civilian was killed and three others injured by a car bomb explosion near Arabic Child Hospital in Al-Karkh, western Baghdad.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi police were able to dismantle a car bomb that has been parked inside a police station's garage in Sadr city for over a week, the source noted. (end) mhg.ma
