Arab Parl't announces action plan against terrorism

CAIRO, July 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament (AP) bureau discussed in an extraordinary meeting in Cairo on Sunday an action plan for countering terrorist attacks and conspiracies against the Arab World, AP chairman Mohammad Al-Jarwan said.
The plan offers specific measures on the Arab and international scenes, to support the Arab move to combat terrorism and extremism, Al-Jarwan said in press statements on the sidelines of the meeting attended by Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby.
Recent developments and terrorist acts that hit some Arab countries over the past days prompted the AP bureau to discuss the issue with the aim of drawing up an action plan that involves the active parties on the Arab scene, on the level of the presidency of the Arab Summit and the League, he added.
Al-Jarwan noted that the plan also aims at preparing a detailed study for achieving comprehensive development in the Arab World to stop the depletion of its human, economic and financial potentials.
In addition, it includes launching two news channels in English and French as well as organizing parliamentary and youth meetings in Arab capitals where Arab parliamentarians will explain the dimensions and hazards of extremist religious thoughts and the conspiracies against the Aras.
