KUWAIT, June 27 (KUNA) -- The government on Saturday briefed members of parliament on its measures pertaining to the terrorist blast that took place in the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in downtown Kuwait City at noon Friday, killing 27 worshippers and injuring 227 others.
The government informed the parliament about its legislative and health plans as well as measures to airlift bodies of those to be buried in Najaf, Iraq, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, told reporters following a cabinet-parliament meeting at the National Assembly building today.
"There is an agreement to get information, news and instructions from the official and concerned authorities to guarantee the well flow of the process and deny the enemy access to information", the minister said.
National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah were present in the meeting.
The Ministry of Interior is expected to issue a statement detailing the current situation and investigations regarding the incident and the security measures to be adopted, Sheikh Mohammad said. (end) hrz.bz
