Kuwait makes headway in combat against epidemics - MoH

KUWAIT, June 21 (KUNA) -- Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi said Sunday the State of Kuwait made major strides in the combat against epidemic diseases through effective preventive measures.
"Kuwait has won praise of the World Health Organization for responding to pandemic and epidemic diseases," he told reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with representatives of the medical sector on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
"The Ministry of Health is working with the competent parties, including the state departments the Ministry of Interior, health inspection department in the border areas and non-profit organizations, to prevent any outbreak of diseases," he added.
Minister Al-Obaidi expressed greetings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. (end) shd.tab.gb
