CAIRO, May 25 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Araby congratulated Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states on the Council's 34th anniversary.
Al-Araby, in a press statement, extended congratulations to the GCC, member countries, and Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani on the occasion.
The Council is an important tributary for Arab joint action as one of the cooperation examples among member states, he said, adding that this cooperation leads to bolstering ties among Arab countries, which is part of the Arab League's charter.
The GCC was launched on May 24, 1981 in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, where the six Gulf countries leaders reached a cooperation agreement to attain joint coordination, integration, and interdependence among their countries in all arenas. (end) mfm.asm.ma
