DUBAI, May 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ports Authority is keen to pick up on success stories and all that is new in the field, especially from neighbouring Gulf Cooperation Council states, said Director General Sheikh Yousef Abdullah Al-Sabah.
After arriving in Dubai in response to an invitation by Chairman of DP World Sultan Ahmad bin Sulayem, he said the two-day visit was to stand on the latest in the marine, administration, technical, financial and security aspects of port management.
Sheikh Yousef said that he had been told that Bin Sulayem was given instructions by UAE Deputy President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum to provide the Kuwaiti visitors with any information pertaining to DP World.
Over the past 20 years, DP World has managed to acquire the rights for 65 ports across the globe, he added, describing this as a cause for pride amongst GCC states.
For his part, KPA Board Member Anwar Al-Yassin said that gaining know-how from other GCC neighbours is beneficial, particularly due to DP World's vast experience in the field.
The delegation was received by Kuwaiti Deputy Consul Anas Marafi (end) hny.sd
