GCC post chiefs, undersecretaries hold 29th meeting in Doha

DOHA, May 12 (KUNA) -- Chiefs and undersecretaries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) post authorities on Tuesday discussed a host of topics for promoting services among the member states.
On top of the agenda of the two-day 29th meeting of the GCC Committee of Post Authorities Chiefs and Undersecretaries in Doha was preparing an action plan for promoting postal institutions and opening up fresh prospects for enhancing e-commerce among the member states.
Participants also addressed means of promoting joint products such Gulf EX service to enhance clients' confidence and secure a better future for the post industry.
Addressing the opening session, Qatar Postal Services Company (QPost) Chairman and Managing Director Faleh Al Naemi said he hoped discussions would lead to developing pan-GCC postal services for the good of the Gulf peoples.
For his part, GCC Assistant Secretary General Abdullah bin Juma al-Shibli pointed to Committee distinguished achievements regarding postal services.
He underlined the positive impact on the GCC economy and investments, as well as the individuals. (end) nnd.msa
