Houthi indiscriminate shelling kills three civilians in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH, May 6 (KUNA) -- The Houthi militias' indiscriminately pounded civilian targets in the southern Saudi city of Najran, leaving three people killed and others injured.
In a press statement, Spokesman of the Civil Defense Directorate in Najran Ali Al-Shahrani said that three people were killed and several others wounded when the rockets fired by the Houthi militias -- on the other side of the borders -- fell several civilian targets including a school and a hospital.
He pointed out that the rockets also hit houses and parked cars and the civil defense teams have rushed to help the victims and evacuated a number others to safer places.
Using mortar and randomly-launched Katyusha rockets, Houthi militias targeted today some schools and a field hospital in Najran with a shower of shelling, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Asiri, the Spokesman of Coalition Forces and Advisor at the Office of the Minister of Defense, said in statements to media.
He added that "this behavior of the Houthis falls in line with our expectations about such militias" comes after the Coalition announcement about beefing up humanitarian aid to Yemeni people.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil issued a ministerial decree suspending work of schools and other educational institutions in Najran for two days. Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation also suspended work at Najran airport sine die.
The Najran power company reported a limited and temporary cut off the electricity in Najran on Tuesday. (end) nh.ibi
