21 people killed, 13 injured as passenger bus fell down from bridge in India

NEW DELHI, May 4 (KUNA) -- At least 21 people were killed and 13 others were injured today as a bus fell down from a bridge in the Panna district of Madya Pradesh in central part of India.
Local police chief I P Arjaria told the Indian news agency PTI that they have taken out 21 burnt dead bodies from the bus which was going to Satna district from Chhatarpur district as the passenger bus caught fire following its fall.
Arjaria added that the diesel tank of the bus burst in the fall from the bridge and caught fire as it fell 15 feet down.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his sorrow in the incident and conveyed condolences to the families of deceased while praying for the speedy recovery of injured. At the same time Madya Pradesh Chief Ministr Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident and announced compensation for the families of dead as well as injured. (end) atk.ibi
