Kuwait to test warning sirens Tues. -- MoI

KUWAIT, May 3 (KUNA) -- Ministry of Interior's (MoI) General Department of Civil Defense will test warning sirens on Tuesday at 10:00 am to assure their permanent and continuing validity, and to make citizens and residents aware of various indications of the sirens' tones, the ministry announced.
The main purpose of the test is to study citizens and residents' reactions when hearing these sirens, as well as their knowledge of the sirens' various tones and indications, MoI's Assistant Undersecretary for Operations Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh said in a statement Sunday.
The statement urged citizens to phone the operations of civil defense at No. 1804000 if they don't hear the siren's tone or related voice message.
Such tests are made to remind citizens and residents of the necessary safety precautions that must be taken in case of emergency or danger. (end) hmd.tab.ma
