Western intersections of Jamal Abdul Nasser st. to cost KD 34.9mln -- official

KUWAIT, April 27 (KUNA) -- Assistant Undersecretary of the Roads Department at the Ministry of Public Works Eng. Ahmad Al-Hassan estimated the value of the construction, completion and maintenance works contract of roads and intersections of the western part of Jamal Abdul Nasser st. at KD 34.93 million (about USD 115.59 million).
The project includes the construction of three overpasses that cross above four main intersections with a total length of 1,650 meters, Al-Hassan said in press statements Monday.
So far only 8 percent of the construction work was completed, he said, adding that the work in the project started on 10, August, 2014 and is expected to be completed by 7 November, 2017.
Meanwhile, Al-Hassan estimated the value of the engineering sector in the fiscal year 2014/2015 at KD 240 million (roughly 794.2 million). (end) am.tab.ibi
