KUWAIT, April 27 (KUNA) -- Yemen's Charge d'Affaires in Kuwait Mohammed Al-Barri said they have no doubt that Kuwait, government and people, will spare no effort to offer Yemeni people aid and support amid the humanitarian disaster in the country.
Al-Barri lauded the role by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to help the Yemeni people, affirming the strong ties between the two countries.
The remarks of the Yemeni diplomat to reporters followed a meeting with KRCS Chairman Hilal Al-Sayer here on Monday.
He said they had discussed a mechanism for delivering relief aid, medical supplies and foodstuff to Yemen over the coming days.
Al-Sayer said KRCS is ready to provide all the needs of "brothers" in Yemen amid their plight, Al-Barri said, commenting the Society's humanitarian role.
On developments at home, the Yemeni diplomat said it is "catastrophic" and getting worse day after day, referring to an imminent collapse of the health sector, as well as other services.
According to Al-Barri, Adan is the scene of huge displacements, as people are fleeing to safer quarters of the southern city, while others have left for neighboring governorates such as Abyan and Hadramaut. Many others sailed to Africa's coast in Djibouti.
For his part, Al-Sayer told reporters that the KRCS is seeking a safe corridor to deliver aid to the afflicted Yemenis to alleviate their sufferings. (end) ako.amh.tb.msa
