4 airstrikes in Syria, 11 in Iraq target ISIL -- coalition

WASHINGTON, April 24 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists, conducting four airstrikes in Syria and 11 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Friday.
In Syria near Kobane, four airstrikes struck an ISIL tactical unit, destroying four ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL boat, the announcement said.
In Iraq near Fallujah, four airstrikes struck four ISIL tactical units, two ISIL fighting positions, destroying an ISIL improvised explosive device and an ISIL heavy machine gun, the statement said.
Near Mosul, five airstrikes struck an ISIL checkpoint, destroying four ISIL heavy machine guns, three ISIL buildings, two ISIL excavators and an ISIL armored vehicle, it said.
Near Ramadi, an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL fighting position, it said.
Near Tal Afar, an airstrike destroyed an ISIL culvert, it said. (end) rm.ibi
