Saudi King discusses developments in region with US Pres. Obama

RIYADH, April 17 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud discussed on Friday in a telephone call he made to US President Barack Obama the latest developments in the region and international arenas.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), during the call, the two also reviewed bilateral relations.
Earlier, the White House said president Obama will host the heads of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to the White House on 13 May, to discuss security cooperation.
The White House noted that Obama would meet with the leaders of Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE in the White House, and then at Camp David the following day.
Since the start of Operation Decisive Storm, in response to an appeal by Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to stop Houthis' coup against legitimacy, the US has expressed full support to the Saudi kingdom and offered all kind of support needed for this operation.
The Saudi-led military coalition aims at protecting the Yemeni people and the legitimacy of President Hadi and forces Houthi militias to retreat from cities they seized since September 2014. (end) yms.mb
