Two people killed, eight injured in car bomb near US Consulate in Irbil

IRBIL, April 17 (KUNA) -- Two persons were killed and eight others injured in a car explosion near the US Consulate in Irbil, northern Iraq, on Friday, the security department said.
A booby-trapped vehicle that was parking between a police station and the American consulate was detonated killing two people and injuring eight others, it added in a statement.
The explosion also damaged a number of cars and a restaurant near the consulate, it said.
The security authorities were investigating the attack. (end) sbr.bs
