CAIRO, April 15 (KUNA) - - The Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby welcomed the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 on Yemen.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Al-Araby called on all Yemeni parties, in particular Houthis, to fully implement the provisions of this resolution and support the constitutional legitimacy.
He reaffirmed the league's support to all efforts exerted by Yemen's President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to maintain the country's unity, sovereignty, security and stability, the statement added.
Arab League chief appealed to all Yemen's political powers to support President Hadi so as to complete political transition based on the output of the comprehensive national dialogue, it made clear.
The UN Security Council (UNSC) adopted Tuesday resolution 2216 demanding Houthis to end violence and authorizing sanctions.
The Resolution was circulated by Jordan and drafted in cooperation with the GCC, where 14 members voted in favor and Russia abstained. (end) mfm.aff.hm
