Parliament Speaker heads to Washington to attend int'l conf.

KUWAIT, April 11 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim headed Saturday to Washington to attend the Global Parliamentary Conference, hosted by the Global Parliamentary Network, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) on April 12-13, 2015.
Al-Ghanim is scheduled to meet with heads of parliaments as well senior officials from the World Bank and IMF.
According to a document by the Global Parliamentary Network, the conference brings together some 200 parliamentarians from about 100 countries, leaders from civil society and partner organizations, and top officials from the World Bank Group and the IMF.
The document indicated that the global conference is an opportunity to identify the Network's policy foci for the upcoming years, adding that the agenda -- which runs over two days -- brings stimulating and informative sessions as well as many opportunities for discussion. (end) sss.gta
