Kuwaiti teams lose in 1st day of GCC beach volleyball tourney in Doha

DOHA, April 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait volleyball teams - A and B - lost all their four matches Friday against Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain in the 2nd GCC Beach Games, currently held in the Qatari capital.
Team A lost two rounds to nothing, 21-23 and 25-27, to its Bahraini counterpart, and two rounds to nothing, 18-21 and 13-21, to its Omani counterpart.
Team B also lost two rounds to nothing, 17-21 and 16-21, to its Qatari counterpart, and two rounds to nothing, 18-21 and 19-21, to its Omani counterpart.
The Kuwaiti volleyball teams' participation in the Games is part of their preparations for upcoming international events, Hamad Adhan, teams' official, told KUNA.
The Kuwaiti teams arrived in Doha three days prior to the event's kick off to hold a training camp led by coach Moldovan, Adhan said, affirming that his teams will do their best to attain an advanced place in their next scheduled matches during this event.
The games, to continue until April 9, gathered more than 300 athletes from the six GCC members (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE). (end) nnd.ma
