Heavy casualties in northern Syria

AMMAN, March 21 (KUNA) -- Scores of people have been killed or wounded in bombing attacks in northern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
SOHR said in statement on Saturday that regime gunners hammered Al-Mash-had district in the northern city Aleppo, killing and wounding 30 people including children.
The opposition group, "the Islamic Brigades" blew up a tunnel below a building occupied by the regime forces near Maisaloun district. The blast and simultaneous clashes between the government forces and opposition groups resulted in heavy casualties. Up to 15 regime troops were believed to have died in the tunnel blast.
Meanwhile, the official Syrian news agency, SANA, said the casualty toll of yesterday's explosion in the northern town Al-Hasaka reached 37 deaths and 96 injured. Up to 20 of the wounded were in serious condition.
These casualties were result of a twin attack carried out by two booby-trapped cars in the town plaza. (end) tk.rk
