PAYS tackles improving sport, youth ties between Kuwait, Iraq

KUWAIT, March 19 (KUNA) -- The Acting Director General of Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Hamoud Fulaiteh stressed Thursday on improving the mechanisms to sports and youth relations between Kuwait and Iraq.
Fulaiteh, in a press statement after a meeting with visiting Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports Abdulhusain Al-Abbtan and his accompanying delegation, said that he presented the work carried out by PAYS and the latest developments on sports and youth in the country.
PAYS chief added that he had also briefed the delegation on recently published investment laws and sports facilities, including discussion and the contents of this law and the intended results for the development of Kuwaiti sports movement.
Fulaiteh added that the Iraqi minister and his accompanying delegation visited PAYS's headquarters and other on sports facilities, including Kuwait Shooting Club, Kuwait's Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, and bowling complex in Salmiya.
For his part, the Iraqi Minister expressed after the meeting delight and pleasure for the meeting and visit, praising Kuwait's support and cooperation.
Al-Abbtan also pointed out that the visit is also aimed at gaining supporting from Kuwait to lift the ban on Iraqi sport fields and help introduce Iraq into GCC Gulf tournaments in all sports.
The meeting was also attended by PAYS Deputy Director General of Construction and Maintenance Sheikh Hmoud Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, PAYS Deputy Director General for Sports Affairs Ahmad Abdulrazaq Al-Khazal, and PAYS Deputy Director General for Public Affairs Jassim Al-Huwaidi, among others. (end) ha.mb
