16 more airstrikes hit ISIL targets in Syria, Iraq over two days

WASHINGTON, March 6 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition continued to strike Islamic State (ISIL) targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 12 airstrikes conducted over two days starting Thursday, the US military said on Friday.
In Syria four airstrikes were carried out near three areas, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a statement.
Deir Al-Zour, where an "an airstrike struck an ISIL crude oil collection point," Ain Al-Arab (Kobane), where "two airstrikes struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed four ISIL fighting positions and an ISIL vehicle," and Tal Hamis, where "an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL fighting position." In Iraq, 12 airstrikes were carried out near seven areas, including major cities Fallujah, Mosul, Samarra and the northern Salahuddine province's town of Tal Afar.
The targets struck were six tactical units, three buildings - including an HQ - a fighting position, a bulldozer, two vehicles, an explosive-strapped car and an anti-aircraft artillery system all belonging to the militant group across the areas. (end) ak.sd
