KUWAIT, March 5 (KUNA) -- Minister of State for Cabinet's Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah lauded the efforts and sacrifices of firemen to safeguard people and their properties.
In a news statement on the sidelines of the 13th Firemen's Day festival organized by the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), Sheikh Mohammad said that the festival aims to raise people's awareness about the huge efforts and major roles of firemen.
For his part, KFSD Chief Major General Yousef Al-Ansari said that the directorate made several achievements including developing human resources.
Al-Ansary expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for patronizing this event and his keenness on removing all obstacles that help the directorate achieves its tasks across the country.
KFSD Deputy Director-General for Human Resources and Firefighting Affairs Brigadier Khaled Al-Mekrad also voiced his gratitude to companies and bodies participated in the annual event.
KFSD Director of Public Relations and Media Colonel Khalil Al-Amir said that the festival runs until March 7 with the participation of the army's firefighters and security and safety unit of the Kuwait Oil Company.
He added the event includes competitions and exhibitions of firefighting equipment. (end) hmd.abd.hm
