Nine airstrikes target ISIL in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, March 3 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against ISIL launched a total of nine airstrikes in Syria and Iraq between 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, and 8:00 am on Monday local-time, the Combined Joint Task Force for Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) revealed in a statement.
In Syria, fighter and bomber aircrafts launched four airstrikes near Dayr az Zawr, where one airstrike "struck an ISIL crude oil collection point," near Ain Al-Arab/Kobane, where the other three "struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle and an ISIL bunker," CJTF-OIR affirmed.
In Iraq, fighter and drone aircrafts launched five airstrikes: Near Al-Asad, where one airstrike "struck an ISIL tactical unit, and destroyed three ISIL boats and two ISIL vehicles," near Bayji, where another "struck an ISIL tactical unit," near Kirkuk, where one airstrike "struck multiple ISIL checkpoints and fighting positions," near Mosul, where one airstrike "destroyed an ISIL fighting position, two ISIL vehicles and two ISIL pieces of engineer equipment," and near Rawah, where the final airstrike "struck an ISIL compound," the statement said.
