Diplomat lauds Kuwait-Vietnam ties

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Consul General in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City Omar Al-Qenai stressed here on Monday continuing development of cooperative relations between Kuwait and Vietnam.
Al-Qenai made the remark to KUNA by phone following a ceremony marking the 54th and 24th anniversaries of Kuwait's National Day and Liberation Day respectively.
"This year's celebrations coincide with the recent UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a Humanitarian Leader in recognition by the international community of the prominent and distinguished role of His Highness the Amir and the State of Kuwait in the field of humanitarian assistance," he said.
The consul-general congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people on the country's national festivals.
The ceremony organized by the Kuwaiti Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City was attended by several Vietnamese officials, accredited consuls and businessmen. (end) mam.mt
