KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- The upcoming three-day official visit by South Korean President Park Geun-hye will aim at boosting bilateral relations, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Seoul Jassem Mohammad Al-Bdaiwi Saturday.
Al-Bdaiwi's statement came one day ahead of expected visit by the Korean leader, on an invitation by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The visit by the Korean President reflects the strong relations linking the two countries since the arrival of the first shipment of Kuwaiti oil to Korea in 1963 and the subsequent involvement of Korean companies in Kuwait from then forward, said Al-Bdaiwi.
The Kuwaiti diplomat affirmed that both nations were looking into means to further bolster bilateral relations in all possible spheres.
On the chances of partaking in Kuwait's development plans for 2015-2020, Al-Bdaiwi said that there was a high possibility for Korean companies to participate in Kuwait's development.
He noted Kuwait's long-term development strategy would aim at making his country a regional financial center by 2035.
A number of agreements and memos are expected to be signed during the Korean President's visit to Kuwait especially within the health and transportation sectors, said Al-Bdaiwi. (end) gta
