Man arrested after suicide bomb hoax against US consulate in Istanbul

ISTANBUL, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Turkish police have apprehended a man, said to be suffering from a "psychological disorder", who while standing in front of the US consulate in Istanbul had claimed to have been strapped with explosives.
Consulate guards immediately called on Turkish police after the man had told them he was wearing an explosives belt and that his car was also rigged, reported Anadolu News Agency.
After being deployed to the scene anti-explosives units and special forces proceeded to shut off all roads leading to the location.
But investigations revealed that the man was psychologically-challenged, the reports added. (end) ta.sd
