Kuwaiti Minister and delegation arrive in Lebanon to support Syrian refugees

BEIRUT, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea, leading an aid campaign delegation of "the Humanitarian Leader" for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, arrived here on Friday.
Upon his arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, Minister Al-Sanea told KUNA in a statement that the aim of the visiting is to get acquainted with the needs of Lebanon, which is hosting a large number of displaced Syrians, and with the necessary requirement that these people miss.
He noted that such campaigns are the first fruits of preparations for hosting the third donors' conference for the Syrian refugees, stressing that Kuwait's official and popular campaigns aimed to support Syrians living in all countries.
He said all varied efforts exerted by the State of Kuwait are directed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to alleviate the sufferings of the Syrian refugees. The minister underlined the significance of efforts exerted by different bodies and authorities in Kuwait in a bid to support brothers and sisters of displaced Syrian.
The delegation was received at the airport by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdelaal Al-Qenaei, members of the embassy and some Lebanese officials. The delegation, headed by the minister, includes Chairman of the Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Amiri Diwan Advisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq, Zakat House Director General Ibrahim Al-Saleh, Deputy Secretary General at Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation Mohammed Al-Jalahma and Director of Media Department at Awqaf Ministry Ahmad Al-Qarawi.
According to recent statistics, the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon exceeded one million. Kuwait is considered a major country that has offered aid to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon since the outbreak of the crisis. (end) mah.ayb.hm
