Ahmadi Governorate holds flag-raising ceremony

KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Ahmadi Governorate has organized a flag-raising ceremony under sponsorship and in presence of Governor Sheikh Fawaz Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as part of Kuwait's national celebrations.
Addressing the event, Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled said this year's flag-raising ceremony is marked by the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center".
He congratulated His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all citizens and expatriates on the occasion of the country's 54th and 24th anniversaries of the National Day and Liberation Day respectively.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary of the Education Ministry Mariam Al-Wateed said the annual flag-raising ceremony mainly aims to promote and boost the values of citizenship and loyalty.
The ministry is keen on inculcating loyalty in the minds of students through curricula and relevant national activities, she added.
Earlier in the day, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sponsored and attended a flag-raising ceremony at Bayan Palace.
It was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, senior Sheikhs, the Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and several other officials.
