RIYADH, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Parliament Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, accompanied by a large number of lawmakers, has extended condolences to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Premier Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Mohammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and Saudi people over the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
"On behalf of fellow lawmakers, we extend our condolences to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Arab and Islamic worlds, ... over the death of a great Arab and Islamic icon; the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, a wise leader," Al-Ghanim said in a press statement in the Saudi capital Sunday.
"With all honor and pride, we recall King Abdullah's heroic, brave, and wise stance at various arenas throughout his long political career, beginning from his historic and brave position against the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait, to his strong support of the Palestinian cause, and ending with his supportive stands in favor of Islamic and Arab unity," added the Kuwaiti Speaker.
He also pointed out that King Abdullah's efforts in the development of Saudi Arabia in various economic, educational, infrastructural, and developmental fields, adding that the Kingdom witnessed significant developments during his reign.
Meanwhile, Al-Ghanim expressed confidence that King Abdullah's benevolent and development march in the Kingdom will continue under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz at same pace and momentum. (pickup previous) yms.ma
