Iraqi forces kill 43 militants in Baghdad - Def. Min.

BAGHDAD, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Iraqi forces killed 43 militants and dismantled bombs placed in 13 houses in two operations in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Sunday, the defense ministry said.
Iraqi forces killed 24 armed men including Abu Mohammad Al-Jamili, so-called judge of Sab' Al-Boor area, and military commander Ihsan Al-Baker, the ministry said in a statement.
The Iraqi forces also destroyed Grad missile launchers, and demolished three bikes equipped with machineguns.
Another force carried out a wide-scale operation in five areas in Baghdad killing 19 militants, and defusing 27 explosive devices and bombs in 13 houses, said the statement. (end) ahh.bs
