ISIL advances near Deir Al-Zour airport amid fierce clashes - SOHR

AMMAN, Dec 23 (KUNA) - The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) took control of number checkpoints in a mountain near Deir Al-Zour airport rea amid heavy clashes with regime forces, including warplane raids on the mountain, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Tuesday.
In a statement, SOHR said heavy clashes between ISIL and regime forces on various areas in Deir Al-Zour resulted in destroying a tank and heavy artillery, including human losses in both sides.
SOHR noted also that warplanes from the international coalition raided an oil field area in Shaitat in the suburb of Damascus.
The statement added at least 29 died due to air raids carried out by regime forces on several areas in Syria, including 14 civilians, three women, and five children in AL-Reqa area.
Six civilians, including four children, in regime forces air raids on the eastern part of the city of Al-Ghouta, killing three citizens in raids on the city of Aleppo.
In Damascus, SORH said armed men assassinated an official from Fatah Palestinian movement. (end) tk.mb
