Jan 6: His Highness the Amir received new ministers after swearing in following Cabinet reshuffle.
Jan 5: His Highness the Amir opened the second international donors conference during which he donated USD 500 million to back the Syrians.
Jan 6: His Highness the Amir accepted resignation of seven ministers as part of the Cabinet reshuffle.

Jan 11: First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah took part in the Arab ministerial conference, held in Paris, on the Arab Middle East peace initiative.

June 24: Kuwait and Britain signed a MoU on scientific research at the post-graduate level. Aug 12, Kuwait signed a MoU on boosting its partnership with the UN, regarding policies on empowering the youth, coinciding with the World Youth Day.

Sept 24: Kuwait and Egypt signed a bilateral agreement in the military field as part of a previously hammered out military training deal.
Oct 12: A USD 200 million grant given by Kuwait to rebuild Gaza was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah at an international donors' conference, held in Cairo, on reconstructing Gaza.
Oct 14: The First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister chaired, on behalf of the GCC countries, the Fourth GCC-UK Ministerial Meeting.

April 9: Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization in Riyadh granted head of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society Barjas Humoud Al-Barjas the "Abu Baker Al-Siddeeq medal of honor" in recognition of his efforts in the field of humanitarian and relief aid.
May 7: Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir granted Amiri Diwan Advisor and Humanitarian Envoy for Kuwait Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq the highest state medal for his humanitarian work.
July 14: Kuwait donated USD 10 million to the Palestinian people.
