Mogherini calls on Russia to make radical change in policy

BRUSSELS, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- EU High Representative Federica Mogherini Thursday said that the difficult financial situation of Russia is not good news for the world.
"The fact that Russia is in a difficult situation from a financial point of view is not good news, first for the Russian citizens, but also for Ukraine, Europe or the rest of the world," she told reporters in Brussels as she arrived for the EU summit.
"But it is true that Putin and the Russian leadership should think seriously about introducing a radical change in their attitude towards the rest of the world and switch to a cooperative mode on the various different crises we have," she said.
"It would be good news if we managed to build a constructive relation to deal with some of these crisis, starting with Ukraine. I came back last night from Kiev, and it will be a good opportunity today to discuss Ukraine," she added. (end) nk.gb
