Bid to cement ties with Azerbaijan

KUWAIT, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Means of boosting ties between Kuwait and Azerbaijan were the focus of talks held here on Monday between Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and a visiting senior Azeri official.
During the meeting with Gulshan Pashayeva, Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan (SAM), Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud stressed keenness on promoting bilateral ties, an issue of high concern for Kuwait and the Arab and Muslim Worlds in terms of economic and political stability.
He emphasized the importance of cementing ties and exchanging expertise in all fields, media, youth, culture and sports in particular, according to a ministry statement.
"We look forward to developing an institutional framework for building partnership in all fields, as well as extending cooperation with the private sector and the civil society in Azerbaijan," he said.
For her part, the Azeri official called for fostering bilateral education, economic, investment and cultural ties through joint conferences and symposiums for.
Pashayeva underlined her country's strong ties with the Gulf states.
The meeting was attended by senior officials at the Ministry of Media and the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and the Azerbaijani ambassador in Kuwait. (end) mdm.tb.msa
