KUWAIT, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Health is keen to increase the departments of nuclear medicine inside hospitals in the upcoming period, Minister Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi stressed here on Sunday.
In his opening speech on an annual nuclear medicine event held here, Dr. Al-Obaidi said that the ministry celebrates this event annually, which is considered one of the most important medical specialties.
He noted that the event, which runs over a week, includes a number of lectures and workshops to raise highly awareness of medical teams and patients as well.
The event, he added, shows the best ways used in this kind of medicine and to help people be aware of the developments that happen constantly to this specialty.
For her part, Dr. Hanan Al-Dousari, head of the organizing committee, said that the event aims at briefing medical teams on the technologies of nuclear medicine which provide the most accurate imaging services.
She underlined the importance of nuclear medicine at any governmental or non-governmental medical facility that serves patients, noting that it is a modern specialty but it is constantly developed.
The organizing committee, she stressed, is keen on reactivating cooperation between the whole staff working in this field who receive daily lectures on the history of nuclear medicine and discussions of patients' tests.
Dr. Al-Dousari said that the lectures are held at facilities which have no nuclear medicine departments to brief them on the importance of this field, indicating the event has 13 brochures on different tests. (end) mf.abd.hm
