Nine persons killed in two attacks in Baghdad - police

BAGHDAD, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- Nine people were killed and many others injured in two terrorist attacks against a Shiite religious gathering in Baghdad on Sunday, a police source said.
A powerful blast caused by an explosive device took place in a Shiite mourning place in Al-Sadr City killing six people and wounding 19 others, the source told KUNA.
He added that three more persons were killed and nine injured in a booby-trapped car blast in Saadoun Street downtown Baghdad.
Shiites are holding religious events during the month of Muharram of the Hijra calendar. (end) ahh.bs
