Kuwait wins first place at Arab Squash Championship

DOHA, Oct 31 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Friday came first at the Arab Squash Championship held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Kuwait also placed second in the two age group categories, Under-13 and Under-17, after bagging 7 medals: two golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
After the championship, the Chairman of Kuwait Squash Federation Waleed Al-Semei told KUNA that Kuwait team won the gold after beating its rival Qatar 2-1 in final.
Kuwaiti men's team included Abdullah Al-Muzayen, Ali Al-Ramzi, Falah Fayez and Ammar Al-Tamimi.
Issa Ghaloum, Mohammad Al-Turki and Khaled Al-Janedil snatched the bronze for the U17s after trouncing Qatar 3-0.
Hassan Abu Hamad, Yusuf Al-Najjar, Badr Al-Maghrebi and Mohammad Abdelqader won the silver for the U13s after outrivaling Qatar 3-0.
Al-Muzayen clinched a well-deserved men's singles gold medal at the Championship on Wednesday.
Al-Semei thanked Qatar for its warm hospitality and successful organization of the championship. He hailed the team's performance at the tourney.
In addition to Kuwait and Qatar, teams of Palestine, Iraq and Egypt participated in the tourney. (end) nnd.hm
